My parents met an artist at the resort, and he drew a charicature of Maddie Grace. She drew a crowd as she sat for him, and she waved bye-bye to everyone watching her.

The train ride
By the way, Maddie Grace started standing on her own this week.
We took a train ride to Ft. Worth. The train was built in the 1920s.
Daddy found a stowaway.
How-dee!
At the stockyard, we saw a cattle drive, met real cowboys, and rode a long horn named Big Jake.
She had an exciting day.
Downtown Grapevine
We went to Historic Grapevine, and watched glass blowers make pendant light shades.

The Budweiser Clydesdales were in town for the festival. One stuck his tongue out at us.

We had a great evening with friends at dinner.

Monday...at the ranch
We went to Southfork Ranch on Monday (from the TV show Dallas). It was interesting to see the house was much smaller than it looked on TV.

Vacation in Texas
We had a great time in Texas, but 8 days is a long time to be away from home with a little one. Maddie Grace loved the pool. She didn't mind the water being cold as much as the rest of us did. It was more work than play for Marty, so we had to make the most out of his breaks.

My 1st Mother's Day was great.
Sunday night, we had dinner in the club at Texas Stadium. We were supposed to eat on the 50 yard line (you can see the tables set up in one of the pics), then Marty was able to throw footballs and kick field goals on the field. They made name plates for the members, and put them up in the Cowboy's locker room. A contestant from American Idol (season 5) sang for us, but I don't remember her name. We also met one of the Cowboy's cheerleaders.
