1st day of preschool

This week, we had a trial run at a preschool. I tried to get some pics before we left, but Maddie was only interested in her waffles (as you can see by the chubby cheeks). She has been in private child care since she was 10 weeks old, so it was hard for me to think about her being a big girl and going to "school". Every week, Marty and I watch how excited she gets to go to Sunday School and play with other kids, so we decided it was time to make the move. She's 18 months old, and we know it will be good for her. I know she is going to get sick being around so many other kids, and that is probably the hardest thing for me. I will get over it eventually, I guess. Anyway, when we arrived, we walked her to her class, she smiled at the other 5 kids, waved, and said "hi, babies". Then she walked over to a little girl and gave her a hug. It was very sweet, and of course she didn't notice me leave. She took a nap on a mat for the first time, which I couldn't believe. She has always slept in a crib or a pack-n-play. I was so proud of her. She made her 1st magic marker art project, and you can see by her hand that she enjoyed it. We will get a report on her each day, and her first one was great. Her teachers said she was an angel (which we already know!). Our baby girl is growing up.

Taco Night

Messy is a good word to describe Maddie eating tacos. She dips the beef and the taco shell in sour cream. Sometimes she eats just the sour cream. She takes that after her mommy. Marty pushed her around the floor in an empty box. She had a lot of fun, and you can see the balloon in tow.

Daddy's surprise

Daddy came home with great surprises! Maddie got 2 heart shaped balloons, and mommy got 2 dozen pink and white tulips. Maddie didn't know what to think about the big balloon.

Just playin

Maddie loves to stack blocks thank knock them over. She got to play with sidewalk chalk for the first time last week. It didn't last long because she kept trying to eat it.

We taught DJ not to lick Maddie...

I guess we need to work on her now.

Sunny Days

We had a few great, warm days a couple of weeks ago.

Happy Days

Our sweet girl likes to color.

Maddie went peepee on the potty today! Hooray!!

20 Weeks

Marty and I went to a fund raising event for a local boy's home last week. It was very interesting trying to find a dress that didn't make me look like a close relative of Shamu. Our baby boy is going to arrive on May 21st by c-section, unless nature intervenes first. We have a lot to do to prepare for our little guy!

Getting ready for Santa

Santa's cookies had a couple of bites taken out of them. We don't give Maddie cookies, but she was successful at snatching them on Christmas Eve. She got a pink kitchen for Christmas, and we were so excited about showing it to her that we forgot to take pictures of her playing with it. At least Daddy did get it on video.

See the difference?

These 1st two pictures are of Maddie sleeping in the floor of her new bedroom. They were taken on the day of our move, and her crib was not put together. She found herself a nice spot on the floor. The 3rd picture is Maddie having her 1st real temper tantrum. I wasn't able to capture the feet kicking and the arm flinging on camera. I thought this wasn't supposed to happen until she was two!?
