Still standing

This little girl is full of personality. She is doing something new every day. She adores DJ, and of course, he adores her. He stay as close to Maddie as he possibly can. He even sits by the tub when we give her a bath. Maddie grace has found her tongue. She thinks it's fun to stick it out. She is doing really well at pulling herself to a standing position. She is very proud of herself.

Going to work

My work partners and myself worked from 8:00 pm to 2:00 am Tuesday night to visit the hospital nurseries. We had Enfamil T-shirts to wear, and we made a little one for Maddie Grace. We had a baseball themed blitz, so we took the nurses baskets full of everything from Big League Chew to Cracker Jacks. Maddie Grace helped us get it all together. Check out her top teeth in the last picture. She looks like a baby vampire!

She's on the move!

It has been a while since I've been able to update the blog. Marty and I are constantly running after Maddie Grace. She isn't exactly crawling. She gets on all fours and then lunges forward. She can get anywhere she wants to, and she gets into everything! As you can see from the pictures, we had to put her swing away this week because we were afraid the straps wouldn't be able to hold her in. She isn't afraid of anything. She loves to play outside. Last week, she started to sit herself up on her own. Friday night, she was playing her piano, and got herself up on her knees. She fell on her bootie, then completely stood up! Marty and I were in shock. She is trying to pull up on everything, which is exciting, but we have not baby proofed the house. I guess that's next on our to-do list.

Church Dedication

Maddie Grace was dedicated at church last week. Once a quarter, our church has a service just for the babies. There were 33 babies dedicated this quarter! You can see why the service is just for babies. It got pretty loud, but it was a lot of fun. Mamaw and Papaw Arwood came, as well as Cindee, John, Logan, and Lauren. Jay, Lisa, Spencer, Sam, Amanda, Trent, and Christa also came to see the service. It was very special.

Just playin

Maddie Grace is so busy these days. She can climb over anything and she is beginning to pull herself up. She can get on all fours, but she hasn't quite figured out crawling (which is fine by us!). The only way I could get the laundry done was to let her play in the basket. She is up to 4 teeth.

Maddie Grace earns her wings!

We went to Michigan to visit with Marty's family this weekend. Maddie Grace earned her wings and a certificate for her first flight. As with many of her other firsts, she slept right through the flight. She gets her love for sleep from mom!

Uncle Doug cracks her up!
Sitting with Papa Andy (Marty's father). He is from Hungary, but he has been in the US for 50 years. However, he still has a very strong accent. He was an executive chef for most of his career, and we were treated to a wonderful dinner he prepared for us on Sunday.

We visited the Henry Ford Museum. Here is Marty and Maddie Grace with Uncle Bob.
Maddie Grace and Marty on tv with Prince. haha
Even in Michigan, you can't get away from Rock City.

Maddie Grace learned all about boilers and pressure vessels at the museum.

Weekend Activities

Here is a pic of Maddie and Kelly. Kelly has been my work counterpart for the last 2 years. I am starting a new job in a couple of weeks, and I will miss working with Kelly. Our territories will still be similar, so I hope to see her often. She is a great friend.

Maddie Grace went to Sunday School for the first time today. We usually take her in the church service with us, but she has become to vocal for that. Rebecca St. James led the music today!

Maddie Grace's 1st modeling job

Well, unofficially, anyway. Sunny sent some of her cloth diapers to us, and Marty took pictures for Sunny to use on her website and in her advertising. They turned out really cute!

6 month checkup

Look at Maddie Grace sitting up! She had her 6 month check up yesterday, and she weighs 16 pounds, 4 ounces. She is 26 inches long and is on track with all of her milestones.

Oops! She's still working on her balance.
