Audrey Caroline

I am copying this from my neighbor's blog. All I can say is that you will be blessed to watch this, and it makes our problems seem so small. Watch it with your loved ones. Suddenly two year old temper tantrums and 3:00 am feedings are a priviledge. There are 3 short video links and a link to Audrey's blog. Todd is in the Christian group Selah. Oh, I don't recommend watching it at work. You'll understand why!

"My church, Cross Point Community Church is doing a series called Plan B. This series is all about what to do when life gives you lemons. Last Sunday as Pete (our pastor) was closing up his sermon, he mentioned that this past Sunday was one not to be missed. If we had plans, cancel them, because this one was the one to be at. Well we just happened to be going out of town for my friend's wedding and had no intention of canceling our plans, but the anticipation was eating away at me not knowing what was in store. On Wednesday, as we were on the drive down, I got an email on my Blackberry from Pete's wife Brandi, letting us know that the sermon was going to be about a family we had been praying for in my Moms' group. Now I knew why Pete felt so strongly about this. Here are the videos about the Smith family and Audrey Caroline.

Thank you, Nicki, for helping to share this sweet story.

I love this little guy to pieces. He is so alert and he is trying so hard to smile. Marty and I got a few grins out of him today. He gets excited when he sees his crib mobile or the play gym. He has lost his newborn baby cry. It has been replaced with an ear shattering scream. When Maddie hears him cry, she wimpers because she is afraid something is wrong with him. I love his little overalls.

Bath Time

I let Maddie take a bath in our tub tonight. She can get an entire bathroom soaked...hence the towel on Preston. He does not like to be cold, so I tried to protect him from the splashes.

Preston has the same big blue eyes as Maddie. They get them from my father.

Cousins!!

We were so excited to have family come for a visit yesterday! My aunt Pat, uncle Walter, cousin Chris, his wife Jennifer, and their boys, Conner and Clint came. We tried to get a picture of the kids, but they were a little silly. Maddie thought it would be funny to lay down, and by the time we had her sitting up, Conner decided to lay down and take Clint with him. By the way, my little guy weighs 10 lbs, 3 ozs! He's going to outweigh Maddie by his 1st birthday.

Father's Day

Father's Day was our 1st day for just the 4 of us to be together! We were so tired, we forgot to take pictures. How pathetic!! Marty and Maddie went to church. Here she is showing off her new dress from Sammy and Amanda.

1st bath

Preston loved his first bath. He kicked his legs and cooed. He held on to my sweater through the whole bath. I guess it made him feel secure.

New pics

A little girl, whose name I won't mention, thinks she is already two. She is sassy, and she wants to do everything her way. I guess we would all like to get our way all the time. Wouldn't that make life easy? She has started putting herself in timeout! She will do something she isn't supposed to, and then says "time out" and sits in the corner for about 30 seconds. I guess she thinks it makes her misbehaving acceptable.

Preston is doing great. He rolled over last week! I put him on his tummy for tummy time, he raised himself up on his right arm, and rolled right over. I took him to the doctor today, and he weighs 9 pounds and 10 ounces! I'm not that surprised...he wants to eat all the time. He loves the crib mobile. He is already trying to bat at the animals.

This is the hungry face.

Maddie's mural

Here is a pic of the mural in Maddie's room. The background is green, but it doesn't show up in the picture. The lady that painted it is very reasonable if anyone local wants her info!

At the pool

Maddie and cousin Hailey had a great time at the pool.

Napping with Papaw

Preston is doing great! He got a clean bill of health this week, and we were told he would have no long term affects from his ordeal! YEA!! He's so tiny in the swing. He makes the funniest faces. We are all just in love with him.

Peek-a-boo!

The birthday party

I took Maddie to a birthday party last Saturday, but the invitation forgot to mention to bring swim clothes. We let all the kids get wet in their regular clothes, and they had a blast!

Playdate

Maddie loves to play with Olivia. They figured out how to turn on the water spicket, which made them forget all about their toys!

I think I'll take a drink!

Homecoming

What a great day! We are so thankful to our Lord for healing our son and for him to come home. He's the best anniversary gift we could ever have. Marty and I had to take an infant CPR class before we could bring him home. We also watched the course on child CPR. I hope we never have to use it, but at least we know what to do in an emergency. We arrived home with Preston around 10:00 pm, and Maddie was trying so hard to stay awake to see him. I videotaped more than I took pictures. Maddie pointed at Preston and said "baby" when she first saw him. Then she asked "who's that?". She was so sweet with him. She kissed his head and just smiled at him. So far, so good with Maddie. DJ seemed a little ticked off that we have another baby. He is keeping his back turned to us when he lays down. He is the drama queen in our family. I am really enjoying getting to know our son. I held him all day. He is eating about every 1 1/2 hours. He's going to weigh 10 pounds by next week!
